Icarazinho is, like Jericoacoara, a remote fishing village on the beautiful north shore of Brazil. The town has kept its slow pace lifestyle due to the fact that it is a rather hard place to access, until now.
In December 2007, ClubVentos Beach Search set out on a mega expedition to find another beach between Fortaleza and Jericoacoara, to open ClubVentos’ second windsurf paradise. The perfectly carved bay of Icarazinho was found to be a spot for all windsurfing disciplines (freeride, freestyle, bump and jump, waves).
We realize that we have to make as little impact as possible to the village and beach to keep its indisputable charm. That’s why we used both 2008 and 2009 to slowly construct and acclimatize our center on this pearl.
Not much more is known about this place, and we are finding out more each day, and hope you want to be a part of the early discover days.
Ohhh, one thing we learned from a local coconut farmer is the name of the place.
He told us that the meaning of Icaraizinho comes from the Tupi-Guarani language, and that Icaraizinho means “holy little water”, meaning I (water) Caray (holy) Zinho (small).
